Hot German Potatoes

Time: 1 hrs 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 (7 ounce) package hungry jack creamy scalloped potatoes mix
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 3/4 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 (2 ounce) jar diced pimentos, drained

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 400 degrees, Cook Bacon until crisp.
  • 2 Drain Bacon; reserve 2 tablespoons bacon drippings.
  • 3 In ungreased 2 to 2 1/2 quart casserole dish, combine bacon drippings, potatoes and sauce mix.
  • 4 Stir in sugar, Celery seed, pepper, milk, vinegar and Worcestershire sauce until well mixed.
  • 5 Add Sauerkraut, pimento and cooked bacon; mix well.
  • 6 Bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  • 7 Let stand 5 minutes.
  • 8 Stir.
