Shrimp Toast

Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 slices white bread
  • 8 ounces cooked peeled shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seed, toasted
  • oil, for frying

Directions

  • 1 Remove crusts from the bread.
  • 2 Using a food processor, blend shrimp, soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil and egg until a smooth paste has formed.
  • 3 Spread paste evenly on top of bread.
  • 4 Sprinkle bread with sesame seeds and press them into spread.
  • 5 Cut bread from corner to corner twice, to form small triangles.
  • 6 Heat oil in wok and fry toasts, sesame side up, for 4 to 5 min, until golden. WARNING: WATCH THEM CAREFULLY. THEY MAY TAKE CONSIDERABLY LESS THAN 4 MIN TO BECOME GOLDEN.
  • 7 Drain toasts thoroughly.
  • 8 Serve with sweet and sour sauce.
  • 9 Enjoy!
