Shrimp Toast
Time: 15 mins
Ingredients
- 4 slices white bread
- 8 ounces cooked peeled shrimp
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon sesame seed, toasted
- oil, for frying
Directions
- 1 Remove crusts from the bread.
- 2 Using a food processor, blend shrimp, soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil and egg until a smooth paste has formed.
- 3 Spread paste evenly on top of bread.
- 4 Sprinkle bread with sesame seeds and press them into spread.
- 5 Cut bread from corner to corner twice, to form small triangles.
- 6 Heat oil in wok and fry toasts, sesame side up, for 4 to 5 min, until golden. WARNING: WATCH THEM CAREFULLY. THEY MAY TAKE CONSIDERABLY LESS THAN 4 MIN TO BECOME GOLDEN.
- 7 Drain toasts thoroughly.
- 8 Serve with sweet and sour sauce.
