French Fried Cauliflower

Ingredients

  • 1 large cauliflower, steamed until soft to the touch, about 15 minutes after boiling
  • 1 cup Bisquick
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons pesto sauce
  • 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • Crisco (for frying)

Directions

  • 1 Use a deep pan or a regular fryer.
  • 2 Heat oil until you think it is hot enough. You can check with a cube of bread.
  • 3 Drain the cauliflower and let cool.
  • 4 Mix together in a bowl the Bisquick, pesto, Italian seasoning, pepper and cheese.
  • 5 Dip the cauliflower pieces into the egg and then coat with the batter.
  • 6 Fry until golden brown.
  • 7 As soon as you remove it from the fat, sprinkle it with more cheese.
