Sour Cherry Jam

Time: 1 hrs 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs sour cherries (about 4 cups)
  • 7 cups sugar
  • 6 ounces liquid fruit pectin
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

Directions

  • 1 Wash, stem, and pit cherries.
  • 2 Chop them small pieces.
  • 3 Put fruit and sugar in a large saucepan.
  • 4 Boil hard for 1 minute.
  • 5 Remove from heat and stir in liquid pectin.
  • 6 Skin 5 minutes.Add almond extract,.
  • 7 Put in jars and seal with hot lids.
  • 8 I sometime do a 5 minute hot bath, but not everytime.
