Whole Wheat Pastry Crust

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups whole wheat pastry flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon wheat germ
  • 7 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into 7 pieces
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons ice water

Directions

  • 1 Combine flour, salt and wheat germ in bowl.
  • 2 Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
  • 3 Add egg yolk and water, stirring until mixture forms a ball.
  • 4 Wrap in waxed paper or plastic wrap; chill for 30 minutes to 24 hours before using.
